Kenall designed the Access Control Point and Visitor Control Center at Pine Bluff Arsenal, transitioning from an open to closed installation in alignment with industry standards. The project required a full complement of architectural and engineering services, including response time and passive vehicle barrier calculations, MEP, fire protection, cybersecurity, programming, space planning, furniture layouts, interior finishes, accessories, signage, and built-in casework.
Kenall was responsible for delivering the complete design for several components, including the ID check station, gatehouse, search office, visitor control building, overhead canopies, guard houses, parking lot, utilities, detention pond, approach roadway, culverts, and outfalls. The team led the development of conceptual and final design documents, as well as provided project management, design charrettes, site investigations, value engineering studies, design review meetings, quality control in architectural and geotechnical aspects, and responses to comments, requests for information (RFIs), and bidder inquiries.
