Kenall played a vital role in supporting the Ninth Ward community post-Hurricane Katrina, providing key engineering and testing services for the new LEED Silver North Kenilworth School. The school is a three-floor, 105,000 SF facility serving 850 Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students.

Kenall provided comprehensive laboratory testing, construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and pile load testing services in accordance with specifications provided by the design team. Their engineers developed geotechnical design parameters for the project’s foundation and provided guidelines for earthwork, including site preparation, grading, and fill compaction.

This project was part of the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Recovery initiative, funded under a federal disaster declaration and administered in compliance with federal regulations and GLO/FEMA guidelines. Kenall’s work highlighted their commitment to sustainability, education, and ongoing community support in the aftermath of the hurricane.
